Dressing Up with Extras
October 29, 2009, Thursday at 9:51 am     7 comments

It’s Thursday and time to meet with other girls and have our “Girl’s Talk” with our host, Ms. Niko of Girls Rule! Today’s topic is all about our fashion accessories. Haven’t you noticed that women today are more fashion conscious than ever before. This includes women in their 40s, 50s, 60s and up. This is soooo true here in Thailand. You’ll find  that older women did not shy away from the latest trends. They use accessories to find  their own style where I’m catching up too…LOL!

Fashion accessories are decorative items that supplement one’s garment, such as jewelry, gloves, handbags, hats, belts, scarves, watches, sunglasses, pins, stockings, bow tie, leg warmer, leggings, necktie, suspenders, and tights. For me, accessories add color, style and class to an outfit, and create a certain look.

My usual accessories are in the form of bracelets, necklaces and earring.

charm bracelets

Charm bracelets

My charm bracelets will be used only on special occasions.  I love the decorative pendants or trinkets they carry . I usually choose trinkets which  serve as  signifiers of important things in my life.

chokers

fashion chokers- flashy but less expensive jewellery

I think choker on us women is very sexy and it just brings out the perfect curves of our neck :inlove: .

I like them  because they are like authentic and unique piece. The key to wearing the trend? Keep everything you wear simple. VERY simple. When I wear them , I skip the earrings and bracelets. The necklace IS a statement piece already .I wear a long necklace with a collared shirt. Wearing your chain on the outside of your shirt creates a fabulous new look and fashion allows you to either wear it long and loose.

earrings

Don’t you just love earrings? Switching out earrings is such an easy way to change your look, even if you don’t alter too much about the rest of your ensemble. Earrings can be as basic, elegant or whimsical as you want them to be, and you can find super styles that are inexpensive. I usually wear stud earrings because:

* Provide a simple fashion statement
* Don’t get caught in my hair
* Are comfortable even when talking on the phone
* great for me with a toddler   as there is nothing to “tug”
* Are classic pieces of jewelry so they stay in style

With stud earrings on, I’m carefree and comfortable. Once in a while, I wear danglers/chandelier earrings to look extra sensuous and very feminine.

Even on dressing up with extras, bear in mind to keep it simple and sexy; that’s the rule for today!
