What's life in Thailand?

If you’re looking for greener pasture with more money and security, definitely Thailand would be the last in your list. Based on my experience, no matter how efficient you are in your teaching career and how long you’ve been in that school, there would be no chance that you’ll get bonuses like mid-year pay, 13 months pay, and definitely no term life insurance or other types of insurances. You’ll never get promoted unless you’ll master Thai language and you’ll never possessed any land or building unless you have millions of assets. These are the main reasons why hubby and I never intended to stay here in Thailand for a lifetime. We’re imploring God’s guidance and provision for our next big step in life- to MIGRATE in Australia!

Though we don’t have the best careers compared to others but still we’re grateful that we’re able to serve the Thai through teaching English to the younger generation. My school where I’m employed is currently one of the best schools in the city and according to my survey, it’s one of the the schools that offers higher salary and benefits. They were the one who paid for our VISA and work permit. We could avail loan on emergencies and just recently they secure an accident insurance for the foreign teachers including myself.

While waiting for our next BIG leap of faith for Australia, we’ll just enjoy what this country can offer to us-friendly people, yummy and cheap food, experience and opportunities to be one of the best teachers in the world:thumbsup: .
