We can prevent hemorrhoid

When I’m in Philippines, I always heard from others that too much spicy food causes hemorrhoid (almoranas in our dialect) – refers to a condition in which the veins around the anus or lower rectum are swollen and inflamed. Eating too much spicy food here in Thailand will sometimes lead to a burning sensation once you defecate but I don’t think so that it will cause hemorrhoid. Hemorrhoids can develop from any increase in pressure in the veins in the lower rectum. Common sources of pressure include constipation and the accompanying extra straining, diarrhea and the continuous expulsion of loose stools, sitting or standing for a long time (teachers beware :warning: ), obesity, heavy lifting, pregnancy and childbirth.

After giving birth to Hyzyd through normal delivery, I noticed that during bowel movement my bottom hurts even it’s not really hard stools. I’m suspecting that maybe I have hemorrhoids but my Oby-Gyne assured me that there isn’t . Maybe it was just strained when I push so hard while giving birth to Hyzyd and there were lacerations that we’re irritated. In order not to suffer during bowel movement, I see to it that I increase fiber in my diet to soften my stool and I drink Fitne tea before going to bed . Fitne tea is very popular in Thailand as a diet or weight loss drink, and is primarily used by Thai Muay Thai kickboxers who are trying to drop some weight and Thai women who are trying to do the same. The tea supposedly contains a natural herbal ingredient that makes you lose weight. It’s also advertised that regular consumption promotes a slimmer healthier figure and a better functioning digestive system. In reality though, it’s nothing more than an herbal laxative. It helps me have soft stool.

Because I suspected before that maybe I have hemorrhoids, I searched for best hemorrhoids treatment online. Some suggested tub baths several times a day in plain, warm water for about 10 minutes and others are application of a hemorrhoidal cream or suppository to the affected area for a limited time. Doctors will often recommend increasing fiber and fluids in the diet. Eating the right amount of fiber and drinking six to eight glasses of fluid—not alcohol—result in softer, bulkier stools. A softer stool makes emptying the bowels easier and lessens the pressure on hemorrhoids caused by straining. Eliminating straining also helps prevent the hemorrhoids from protruding.

It’s better to prevent hemorrhoids than curing it. The best way to prevent hemorrhoids is to keep stools soft so they pass easily, thus decreasing pressure and straining, and to empty bowels as soon as possible after the urge occurs. Exercise, including walking, and increased fiber in the diet help reduce constipation and straining by producing stools that are softer and easier to pass.
