on starting my own business

Our topic yesterday at Girl’s Talk about how we love ourselves financially motivates me to start a “sideline” job where I could earn extra for family savings.

I talked with my mom before about the possibility of opening a second-hand shop or gowns for rent  in our city. I could shop in here trendy and fashionable clothes in flea market and we could sell them there in Philippines or else we’ll venture on selling jewelry. I’m still looking for a reliable wholesale jewelry supplier for silver here in Thailand. I’ve heard from a friend that I could buy silver jewelries as wholesale at Nakhon Si Thammarat-the popular haven for silver jewelries and I would surely enjoy a very low rate. Even if I’ll have only a capital of 30K baht to start this business, it will surely flourish. As a retailer I will make a profit when I mark up the items for retail sale. The mark-up on jewelry is usually quite high–over 200 percent in most cases–so if I want to buy it at wholesale prices, I can reap the benefits of low prices and sell the remainder a bit above my cost plus and still make money.

I better start praying and saving for this business venture I’ve been dreaming of.
