Yesterday, we went to Western Union to send money to Philippines. WU has a new promotion this season-every time we send or receive money via the Western Union service during 1 April-30 June 2011, we’ll automatically have a chance to win a gold necklace, 72 prizes in total with a combined value of more than THB 800,000!
Here’s the prizes:
1st Prize-76 grams gold necklace, one prize valued at THB 100,250
2nd Prize-7.6 grams gold necklace, 71 prizes valued at THB 10,025 each, total valued at THB 711,775.
How I wish I’ll be able to win one of those gold necklaces. If it happens, it would be my first gold jewelry. As I entered adulthood (I just reached 30), one of my goals is to invest my savings on gold jewelry. Why? Because I could get cash for gold if ever financial crisis come on my way. In these times of economic strain, gold jewelry is a great investment. Gold jewellery is proven throughout history to be a longstanding and stable investment. Gold is also a good way to diversify, or hedge, an investment portfolio. The price of gold does not necessarily move in-step with stock prices.
