Fashion Explorer (this blog) was launched in year 2009 to chronicle my personal experiences in the world of fashion. I may not be seen as fashion forward but I do have fashion sense and I could stand out in a crowd if I want to but I keep my fashion style conservative and acceptable as a role model to my siblings , co-workers and friends.I’m 30 years old but still there’s a girl inside me that likes to spend hours in front of the mirror throwing together random pieces of clothing and creating new styles. I don’t have the most coveted closet, cannot afford the latest and branded items, and I got most of my outfits and accessories in thrifty stores and flea market but I remained fashionable on budget. Since I came to Thailand in year 2007, I experienced shopping until I dropped. In school, you can’t see me wearing the same dress/outfit. Though most of my outfit are quite minimalistic, but I see to it that they’re paired with the boldest, most eclectic accessories to create a unique, fabulous outfit. There are times that I love remixing and playing vibrant colors to my outfit like pairing yellow tops to pink skirt or pairing peach-colored skirt to mint green tops. Since I’m in elementary, I always dream to own a boutique. Two years ago, I had a serious discussion with my sister-in-law who shared the same passion on marrying our fashion sense and our business sense with an online fashion store. In this day and age, it’s easier to start an online store. Many more people are doing their shopping online these days. There’s a significantly lower start up cost, since we will only need inventory space and only a handful of items to start with. We haven’t started yet because both of us got babies and we have to prioritize our family first but now that our babies are now growing, we think it’s about time to START!
So where do we begin? First, we need to determine what types of products we plan to sell in our fashion store. We would like to fill various consumer fashion needs- we would like to sell teens fashions, women’s clothes and unique and fab accessories in affordable prices, let’s say $10 and below? WE always find good things to sell during our thrifting/shopping spree and we love to share them to others. WE wanted to inform other women with modest income that we don’t need labels and signatures to be fashionable. We can be fashionable in budget!
Yesterday is holiday. We’re celebrating Mother’s Day. I discovered that there’s a flea market just a walking distance from our place. My sister, sis-in-law and I decided to pick the first batch of items for our online store! I also didn’t forget to buy something for myself. I supposed to choose waffle slippers to be used only in our bedroom upstairs but I was swayed to buy this shoes:
This enviable high-heeled lace-up shoes brings cool femininity to the classic Oxford, isn’t it? Sorry for the poor quality of the photo because I’m just using my digicam. You will appreciate its beauty once my hubby photographed them using DSLR. I bought these with two things in mind- I can wear this in school and as one of our important ensemble during the photo shooting of our items to be sold. I will let my younger model wear the items to be sold so that the buyers will have a clearer view of the clothes and will gain ideas on how to wear them.
Here’s a sample of the clothes to be sold (amateurishly worn by our model) :
What she wears (to be sold soon):
- amazing hot red popcorn blouse : 89 Thb= $2.97
- polyester
- this blouse is fun and easy to wear for all ages.
- this amazing fabric is cool in the summer and perfect for layering in cold days.
2. pretty black pleated calf-length skirt: 99 Thb= $3.31
- a look that capitalizes on this sweet midi-skirt
3. high-heeled black oxford shoes: 200 Thb= $6.69 (sorry not for sale)
We know that running our own online store isn’t easy but we know it would be fun for us because this is our dream, our passion! Starting an online fashion store will take hard work, perseverance, and dedication. Because we love and have passion for it , we’ll stay focused. With God’s help and our dedication, we will reach our goal of being successful online fashion store owners.

Congratulations!!! And Goodluck on your new venture!!!
