Cars these days is indispensable in every household but in our case we need to look for other options before considering to buy our own car. You see, we don’t want to buy something we don’t like . The car that we like is something that we can’t afford (though it’s second hand). Yeah, life is tough here in abroad. I used to believe that once you work and live abroad, you could have the luxury you never had. Though we’re blessed in our career and life in general but the issue of the car is still in God’s hand. We prayed for it and if God allows we’ll have enough budget for it.

As I told you, we’re eyeing for a car that we can’t afford…not yet. The small monthly payment it requires doesn’t mean low cost over all as we carefully calculate the liabilities it will incur in terms of monthly payments, interest, taxes, insurance like every small or big charge. A friend offered his friend’s old car. It’s cheap and affordable but it needs repainting and change of body kits . A bodykit or body kit is a collection of exterior modifications to a car, typically composed of front and rear bumpers, side skirts, spoilers, and sometimes front and rear side guards and roof scoops. There are many companies that offer alternatives to the original factory appearance of the vehicle. Body kits components are designed to complement each other and work together as a complete design. AS for my hubby, bodykits are not only peripheral or incidental parts. They are as essential a part as any other part of the vehicle. They are required for all types of vehicles, whether it be a modest car or a luxury car, a heavy truck or a mid-sized pick up or a smaller one, or a sports car. The power generated by the engine of the vehicle pulls the car. The vehicle encounters friction on the road. The atmospheric air through which the vehicle moves also exerts some pressure on the car. The spoiler tends to keep the vehicle firmly on the ground. Its tendency to go up is reduced. The pulling power of the engine is better utilized that way. If the vehicle is required to take a sudden turn the body kits lessen the adverse impact of that. Bumpers contribute to safety of the passengers in the car and also protect the vehicle.

There are many points to consider before we’ll actually step foot on the lot. Buying a car is different from other purchases since it is considerably more expensive and we can’t just browse around until we find something that strikes our fancy. Going in blind and ignorant can cost a quite a bit of green. On the other hand we’re saving for a greater project-a project for a brighter future. Our car could wait.

The story’s told of a mother putting away the nativity set after Christmas when she noticed the Baby Jesus was missing. She asked her four-year-old if he knew where Jesus was. He replied, ‘Yes, but He doesn’t want me to tell anybody.’ ‘Why not?’ she asked. ‘Because He doesn’t want you to put Him away with the decorations,’ he said. Wisdom from the lips of a child!

When you know why Jesus came, you’ll celebrate Christmas every day. He said:
(1) ‘…I came to…fulfill [the law]‘ (Matthew 5:17 NKJV). The songwriter wrote: ‘The maker of the universe, as man for man, was made a curse. The claims of law that He had made, unto the uttermost, He paid.’ Total coverage! Your sins of omission, commission and disposition, were all paid for at Calvary.
(2) ‘…the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve…’ (Matthew 20:28 NKJV): Jesus was responding to a mother’s request: ‘Grant…these two sons of mine may sit [on thrones] at Your right and…Your left in Your Kingdom’ (Matthew 20:21 NIV). He said, ‘It’s about serving, not striving!’
(3) ‘…I must preach…the Kingdom of God…’ (Luke 4:43 NIV). Each time we obey God’s will instead of our own, we ‘preach’ to others what it’s like to live as a citizen of His Kingdom.
(4) ‘…the Son of Man came to seek and to save what was lost’ (Luke 19:10 NIV). Imagine meeting someone you worked with or lived with, saying to you in Heaven, ‘How come you never told me?’

Keep these four things in mind and you’ll celebrate Christmas every day of the year!

We don’t throw buffet parties in celebrating our anniversary. We do it in our own special way- practical and romantic….Why?

It affirms our relationship’s endurance. Do you still remember and greet each other on your monthsaries? We do. In fact, we just reached the 108th monthsaries last September 2 as couple and our 35th monthsaries as married couples. This demonstrates that it’s never easy to get through a year. What more if we’re into our , say, 10 years together as husband and wife, right? That’s 120 monthsaries, baby!

Celebrating milestones highlights our union. Renewing our vows makes us want to really stand by it. It makes us more committed and gives a boost to our relationship.

We celebrate anniversaries because it reminds us of why we got into it in the first place.

Dear only 1 more month and we’ll celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary.

Yesterday was really a bad day for me. I was so excited to rehearse for our tambourine dancing but the weather is against me…*sigh*…Hubby’s doing very important and no one could look for Hyzyd. I don’t have a choice but to skip the rehearsal. Anyway, I tried my best to accomplish something for the day. I get done with the laundry. I folded our clothes, clean the kitchen as well as the living room. We take outside stuffs that we don’t need. Now the living room and kitchen isn’t crowded anymore. Hyzyd missed playing outside. He could run wherever he wants unlike the place we used to live. It’s just few steps away from the corner of the road. Hyzyd and I couldn’t freely walked around in that neighborhood because of the constant passing of motorbikes , cars and other vehicles. Good thing that there’s convex mirror installed in every corner to enable the drivers (as well as for us “walkers”) greater visibility to see around the corners. Being able to see these areas helps us prevent accidents.

It’s still raining today and I don’t know if Hyzyd and I could go with my hubby rafting with our churchmates tomorrow..*sad*…

I’m lucky I have a hubby with an almost intuitive understanding of when I need to be alone even for just a few minutes just like last night. I told him I wanted to take a walk to the mall to buy Hyzyd’s favorite bread and I would leave Hyzyd to him. Before I headed to Tops Supermarket, I stroll along sandal/shoes stalls, fitting them but not buying them :haha:. I visited Watsons because they had Midyear sale and I just scanned all corners of the store until I came to the nutrition and vitamins section where I had a great time with a sales agent who’s doing a weight loss pill comparison to me even in her crooked English. She’s so persuasive that I almost buy the weight loss product she introduced to me ! The only thing I buy from Watson is their Apricot face scrub. I’ll tell you later if it helps do some miracle to my face :haha:. I also bought Axe Twist Body Spray to my hubby.

I love having my “me” time. It helps me unwind and meditate on what’s going on with my life.

Last Sunday I found an English magazine in our church’s library. This makes me happy because you’ll seldom saw English magazines here in the city even in their bookstores. I read from that magazine (I think the magazine’s name is “best”) on how to breathe you belly flatter. According to the theory of Pilates, most of us pull our tummy in as we inhale and push it out as we exhale. This reduces the amount of fat-burning oxygen we take in and stops stomach muscles working properly. So “what’s the best way to breath?” you may ask. Just expand your tummy as you breathe in, then pull it right back as you exhale. I find this way interesting . I just need to breathe properly to take in more fat-burning oxygen (which I badly needed right now) to help burn my fats! In this way I won’t need the aid of fat burners available everywhere that does not require a prescription.

The owner of our house informed us if we’re willing to buy a used Ford car of his friend. He’s only selling it for 70,000 baht (217.189 USD)! It’s quite cheap, right? But we’ve declined the offer. You all know that this month we’ll not be paid so we’ve been tightening our belt to stretch our budget for two months. This year we need to save because we’ll be going home next year and for airfare alone, we’ll be spending at least 50,000 baht (1,551.350 USD) for the three of us. That would be lessened if we could avail any promo though.

After the offer, my hubby and I talked how affordable it is today to buy cars especially used cars in excellent conditions. Maybe it would be our next project to save for a car. It would be advantageous for my husband as he’s working about 25-30 kilometers away from home and he’s traveling everyday. I believe that the owner of the house could help us scout for a cheap used car. He could help us know everything about the history of the car, including the number of previous owners (at most 2), if the car was ever involved in an accident, any previous mechanical problems and the the maintenance history of the car . I believe also with my husbands sound judgment when it comes to cars and motorcycles.

I know that once we’ll be having our own car, additional expenses will be expected- license tags, gas, and maintenance of the car. We’ll most likely going to have to spend up to $10-$20/week for gas. Every three months, we will probably need to get the oil changed for about $25. So, for the basics, it could cost up to $1,000 a year, and that does not include other costs such as wiper blades, tune-ups, and other problems (dead battery, flat tire, transmission, etc.). Let’s not forget about car insurance which will be very much helpful for protecting both the driver and the owner from any kind of troubles , depreciation, parking fees, tolls and registration, among other things. It’s time to read the carinsurancelist blog I found last night. Oh wait, the cost of car ownership is probably a whole lot more than I think .

Care to share how it cost you to own a car?

Last night we watched “The Perfect Score”. It’s a film about 6 teenagers from diverse backgrounds – among them the school’s star basketball player – who conspire to break into a SAT testing center to steal the answers in hope of acing their exam and the school’s second in her class, yet extremely apprehensive about taking the exam but needs a high SAT score to get into Brown University. This movie shows the pressure that high school students have on standardized testing in general. Their grades may be good, but without a good score on this one test makes the difference in what college they can get into. For me they have better option than stealing, they could enroll themselves to sat prep courses online, classroom settings or hire tutors and buy SAT prep books. The movie reminds me of our neighbor. She’s the first honors in her class but she failed in NCEE (National College Entrance Examination) :exclaim:Thus, she’s not able to enroll the course that she ever wanted. I felt pity on her :nono: . In my case, we have the NSAT (National Secondary Aptitude Test) but I wonder why they don’t release the scores we got from that test and we thought that it will be included in our grades but it’s not :dazed: . I wonder how I score :question2: . I remembered that prior that test we reviewed every weekend . Oh, high school life :exclamation:.

Oh, what can I say about the movie? It’s a great movie! You have to love Roy (the stoner), he’s one of the best characters ever created! And this movie would have been crap if Scarlett Johansson wasn’t in the movie :bleh:.
