What’s my job? I’m a teacher. Based on macro trends seen today, business , education, entertainment, services fields and health care jobs were few of the jobs which were listed to be relatively high demand throughout the next 10 years.

Almost all jobs, no matter how secure, will experience ups and downs due to the economy and unexpected changes in technology. Thus there is no guarantee.

The key to survival and winning in the career game is to be the best at what you do. Even in tough times, the people who have a reputation for being the best in their field will do better than most.

The key to being the best in your field is to do the type of work that you are truly passionate about which is teaching for me. Aside from that, being a teacher means that I could work the same number of hours my children are at school. Once my kids are home, I too can join them. Plus the Christmas holidays and the summer vacations can be spent in the company of my children. Salary wise too teaching jobs are better than many other part-time jobs which a woman might be considering. If my children study in the same school in which I teach, they’ll get financial breaks on their fees.

One more perk of having a baby? Those incredibly generous gifts. When I gave birth to Hyzyd, gifts flooded for him from my Thai friends. My parents were amazed of the generosity of my friends. Here in Thailand they have the so called “nam jai”, literally means “juice of the heart” or ” flow of the heart”. Nam-jai is “generosity”, a desire to give one’s time, resources, and attention to others just for the good feeling it generates in both. A person who shows nam-jai will not ask for money or any kind of payment in exchange for her generosity. The Thais will even feel uneasy accepting a payment that is offered for her generosity, because this suggests that she did it for the payment instead of the good will.

Because of this generosity, Hyzyd has a one-year supply of baby anti-rash powder, baby bath cream (one for the day and one for night time), head-to-toe tear-free shampoo, lotion, oil, bottles and nipples cleansing soap.

We’re also blessed to received gifts from our dear Filipino friends. One family gave us their baby’s crib complete with mattress and beddings, stroller, carrier and other indispensable items for baby.

But you know what… I didn’t know the rule that once you unwrap that sweet receiving blanket, it’s time to pen the proper thank you. I mean I’m not ungrateful. Our friends gave those gifts in person so I already thank them with all my heart in person. Maybe giving baby thank you cards will be needed only if those gifts were sent to me via another person and I didn’t get the chance of thanking the giver personally.

We’ll maybe for our next baby I try to find the most perfect thank-you cards. If I knew before the importance of sending baby thank you cards, my friends will receive something like this for they deserve one:

This thank you card makes saying “thank you” easy by showcasing our son’s adorable photo. This version is cute without being cutesy.

One day as my hubby fetched me in school, I’m suspicious on the way he grinned at me. I asked him what’s the grinning for. He honestly told me that I don’t walk sexy anymore. Instead of walking straight, my feet stride in different positions and my bulging tummy is getting on the way instead of sucking it in. Thanks for that honesty my dear. Since then I find myself mentally checking my stride and started dieting to get rid of tummy fats.

I’ll be turning 30 next year. I have decided to look for ways to improve my body image. Body image is a term which may refer to a person’s perception of his or her own physical appearance, or the interpretation of the body by the brain. Body image can be described as how individuals see themselves when looking in a mirror, or when picturing themselves in their mind, and their ideas about their body, such as height, shape, and weight and age. Essentially, body image describes how one perceives one’s appearance to be in relation to others, which in many cases may be dramatically different from one’s objective physical condition or how one is actually perceived by others.

Here are some ways I learned to improve my body image:

1. Practice good posture.

Since hubby told me the ugly truth, I started practicing good posture. It truly helps increase my confidence level. Confidence is one of the things that will dramatically impact how other people view me, so by straightening up my posture, I feel better about myself in general, so it carries through impacting more than just how other people see me. I always feel good about myself and I noticed it increases my mood level. This simple change really impact my image.

2. Build self-confidence.

I look in the mirror and I like the person I see. I look inside myself and is comfortable with the person I see. I think of myself as being someone who can make things happen and who is worthy of love. My God, parents, siblings and my husband and son are the main source of my sense of self-worth.

to be continued…

Have you seen the world’s smallest car? At first I thought Mr. Bean’s 1970s MK IV British Leyland Mini 1000 is the smallest car because it’s the smallest car I’ve seen so far. Just recently, I knew that this is the wold’s smallest car:

Wind Up is the worlds smallest car ! It has the size of a washing machine- is 51 inches long, 39 inches tall and just 26 inches wide . Wind up ! Is the latest creation from Perry Watkins the creator of ‘THE FLATMOBILE’ The world’s lowest car. Wow! I was taken aback by the car Perry Watkins has built from a children’s coin-operated amusement ride. The Briton, who holds the record for the world’s lowest car, claims his micro machine is the world’s smallest car. I think there’s no need to doubt about it because it’s now recognized by the ‘Guinness Book of Records’.

As you can see, the body of this car is made from a steel frame of a Postman Pat kiddies ride and mounted a 150 cc engine pulled from an ATV. There are added lights, mirrors, wipers and, of course, a wind-up key in it. The flames are a nice touch, and the blower sticking through the hood looks so cool. Does this car needs chevy tahoe accessories so that people will love to sit behind its wheel ? I wonder if it’s comfortable to ride on this car. There were a few problems with this car. First off, there was hardly any space. Secondly, it had no reverse gear, I think. Third: it’s so small that at night people thought you were a motorbike. Despite that though…I wouldn’t have one but if I had a chance to try, why not?

I kept a small notebook with all my wishes- my hopes, my desire, items that I want and needs. It’s not a typical wish list where you will compile a list of items you desire and then distribute copies of this list to family and friends that are likely to purchase gifts for you. It’s simply a list of my wishes. It doesn’t matter if they’ll come to pass or not. I just list them so that if ever I have extra in my budget, I could purchase some of them. So far, I’ve bought most of them and it inspires me to SAVE more from my own monthly allowance.

For this year here’s what’s in my wish list:

1. bought 3 air tickets both domestic (Hatyai-Bangkok) and international (Bangkok-Butuan) by October
2. celebrate Hyzyd’s birthday in Sakura Hotel
3. buy a pink Sony VAIO laptop
4. Nikon D300S DLSR camera
5. Flip UltraHD camcorder
6. Pink Nokia 5530 Illuvial
7. Coach Poppy Op Art Dark Red Top Handbag
8. Coach Madison Op Art Dark Red Checkbook Wallet
9. Coach sunglasses
10. Coach sandals

Well, this is just a wish list…How I wish I could have them all if not this year, maybe in the years to come.

Sis, you may not know but you’re an inspiration to me. With you I’m convinced that it’s not impossible to be a fab momma in our own simple way. Your thoughtfulness to your friends online and offline makes you more beautiful. I sense in you that I can be at home with you if ever we’ll meet personally. Though you’ve richly blessed in marriage life and every aspect of your life, you remain humble and honest. Please stay this way . The way you care your baby is admirable. The way you journal her milestones and how diligent you prepared her food is inspiring . I’m so proud I know you sis. You’re a blessing to me :star: .

May you have many richly blessed and abundant birthdays to come .

Happy Birthday!

Next week will be my hubby’s first day of work. He travels by motorbike for 30-45 minutes before he reaches his school. I see to it that before Monday, I’ll prepare the following:

1. ironed 5 long sleeves
2. ironed 5 long black plant
3. 5 pairs of socks
4. polished school shoes
5. cleaned and shiny helmet
6. washed and dried driving gloves
7. backpack
8. newly-washed jacket
9. neck ties

Other important things that he need in case it will rain are the rain coats and rain boots. I’m still looking for men’s rain boots that will help him stay fashionable and keep his feet dry on rainy days. Any idea?
